Forestal Siryon Review: A Light Weight Enduro eBike That Shreds Trails

The Forestal Siryon is a sleek carbon enduro ebike with enduro performance in a lighter package. This trail-ready machine packs 170 mm of suspension travel front and rear on 29-inch wheels – yet weighs only about 19 kg (~42 lbs), impressively low for a big-travel trail ebike. In any ebikes overview, the Siryon stands out as a light weight enduro eMTB. Our test bike was a size Medium in the Neon build (mid-tier spec) equipped with a RockShox Lyrik Ultimate 170 mm fork, RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate RCT rear shock, and Magura MT7 brakes.

Geometry & Handling

“The Forestal Siryon is a remarkable machine that lives up to its promises. Its sleek design, exceptional performance and impeccable handling…”Worldwide Cyclery

The Siryon’s geometry is aggressive: 458 mm reach, 1238 mm wheelbase, with a slack 64° head angle and steep 77° seat angle. It feels confident and planted on descents yet comfortable on climbs. The carbon fibre frame and linkage deliver 170 mm of rear travel for a plush ride over rough terrain. Despite the big travel and slack geo, the Siryon is playful. Short chainstays and low weight make it easy to pop off trail features and whip through corners. It rides much like a regular enduro bike with an extra boost when needed – an ebike for trails that still gives you an authentic ride feel.

Motor & Battery Tech

The Siryon is powered by Forestal’s EonDrive motor (250 W, 60 Nm, Bafang), which is powerful and gives a peppy boost. Importantly, the motor has a drag-free design: when you turn off the assist or hit the speed limit, there’s no resistance – you can pedal it like an analogue bike. The trade-off for the low weight is a smaller Aurora battery at 360 Wh. That’s enough for a solid 2–3 hour ride with moderate assist, but you’ll need to conserve power on all-day outings (no range extender yet!). The Siryon also features an Android-based Smart Dashboard – a 3.2-inch colour touchscreen on the top tube with GPS maps, ride logging, and more. It’s cool, but adds a 30 seconds to startup and we noticed occasional firmware quirks like glitchy battery readings or motor hiccups.

On the Trail Performance

The 170 mm suspension gobbles up rocks and drops with a smooth, bottomless feel, and the slack geometry inspires confidence on steep terrain – yet thanks to its low weight you can still flick it around easily. The powerful Magura brakes help keep your speed in check when things get rowdy.

“On these descents, the Siryon simply rides like an enduro bike… ranking up there with the best analogue bikes.”The Loam Wolf

The steep seat angle keeps you centred and maintains traction on climbs, and in Eco or Sport mode the 60 Nm motor delivers plenty of punch for technical ascents – nearly on par with full-power eMTBs. You do have to be mindful of the 360 Wh battery on big elevation days, but it’ll get you to the top. And if you do drain the battery, the Siryon’s low weight and zero-drag motor let you pedal home without feeling like you’re dragging a dead weight.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Lightweight: ~19 kg (easy to throw around)
  • Downhill prowess: 170 mm suspension & slack geo = confident, plush descents
  • Playful handling: Short chainstays + low weight = easy to jump and manoeuvre

“It was the lightest ebike I have seen and ridden, and for a high travel bike, it was playful, fast, and sturdy.”Women’s MTB Network

Cons:

  • Limited range: 360 Wh battery (no extender support yet)
  • Tech quirks: Smart Dashboard can be slow or buggy
  • High price: High-end build comes at a steep cost

Conclusion

The Forestal Siryon impressed us with its blend of low weight and fun. Not perfect (small battery, tech hiccups), but those are minor trade-offs. For riders seeking a light weight enduro electric bike that feels as agile as a normal mountain bike, the Siryon fits the bill. You can order the Forestal Siryon now at Forestal.com.
